Calculate how many articles you need to write to reach a passive income goal.Calculate how many articles you need to write to reach your passive income goal. Assume an average of $5 per article per month. Some will earn more, some less, depending on the topic and how well you write. If your articles seem to average less or more than that, go with your numbers. Divide your income goal by the projected monthly earning for each article and the result will be the number of articles you need in your eHow bank. For example, to earn $1,000 a month assuming $5 per article per month, you'll need to write 200 eHow articles. Step 2:

Write eHow articles as quickly as you can, remembering that you can come back and tweak and add photos to improve the articles. Get them online so the page hits can begin and generate your passive income from writing eHow articles.

Upload your own avatar to your eHow profile. It seems that eHow writers only have their profiles featured on eHow if they have an original avatar or personal photo and not one of eHow's stock avatars. Being featured on the site helps you generate your passive writing income, so don't overlook this step.

Step 4:

Optimize the keywords in your articles. Choose keywords that are most likely to be searched (ie, "chocolate cake recipes" rather than "making cake") and repeat them several times in the intro and once in each step of your eHow article. Use keyword tools such as Wordtracker to find the best keyword combinations. Add photographs and extra steps to your articles by clicking the "Edit" article from your profile. Photographs add to the appeal of your articles. Find free stock photos online or use your own digital pictures.

Step 6:

Promote your eHow articles. Each day, post a link to a different eHow article on your personal web space or social networking site. Post links to your eHow articles on web forums relating to the topics you wrote about. For example, write articles on child care on parenting forums to generate interest in your how-to articles, thus increasing your passive income from writing. Step 7:

Boost your page hits by using the Stumble Upon toolbar and sites like Ping-O-Matic and Digg. Add each article (Digg or Stumble it) as it is written and send your link to Ping-O-Matic each time you update your articles.
